2014 MEGT Foundation Grant Recipients

MEGT Foundation proudly announces the recipients of the 2014 MEGT Foundation Grants!  Grants are awarded in two categories: the support of professional development needs of licensed staff and start-up funds for new initiatives.  In all MEGT Foundation gave out $4,500.00 in grant requests!  Congratulations to this year’s recipients!

“I received a $300 grant to be used to offset the cost of professional development.  My school district has limited funds for professional development this year.  This grant will allow me to participate in training and receive knowledge that I can share with staff in my district.”  - Melanie Olson

“One of the best conferences I have attended!  I gained so many valuable ideas that not only I will use but I am sharing what I learned with all of the gifted education teachers in my district.  This will help increase student achievement for students in 17 elementary school across our district.” - Laura Thompson

“I teach MS Earth Science but attended the pre conference on literacy.  I now have some tools and ideas on how to implement novels into my course.  I have always had two novel in mind and now I think I can tackle doing those in a science course.”  - Kim Atkins
